Blurry photos???

I seem to be very confused by blogging at the moment and have lots of questions to ask, my first one is about blurry photos. I take photos with both my iPhone and my DSLR and have a tendency to use my phone to write my blog posts because I can sit with the kids in the living room BUT my photos lately have been blurry. They are clear on my phone or mac and at first I thought it might be because I was looking at my blog on my phone but that's not the case. They are just plain blurry! If you click on them they are clear but how many people want to click on all your photos when reading your blog??
It seems I'm not the only one with this problem but there doesn't seem to be one cure everyone has a different way of correcting this problem and I was just wondering if you lovely bloggers had
A) noticed that my photos were blurry
B) had any ideas on what I am doing wrong
and
C) could point me in the right direction to get this problem solved

I have added a photo so you can see what I mean...

Thanks in advance from "confused of chelmsford"

Leaving comments.....

Like many of you I have had to start using feedly or bloglovin' to read my favourite blogs but I think I must be doing something wrong?? Every time I try to leave a comment using bloglovin' I'm not sure where my comment goes. I know some of you use the verification thingy or comment approval but I'm not receiving any indication that the comment is being logged. Can any of you lovely bloggers enlighten me as to what I'm doing wrong. I tend to read my blogs on my phone so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it???

Thank you from confused of Chelmsford!!

Let the holidays begin.....

Today was the last day of school for another year for my eldest two and I think they are looking forward to the break after another brilliant year at school.
Tomas has already had a week off school and it has been a glorious laid back week too. We have practiced our sewing,

played with the Lego

and kept cool by taking a dip

or two in the pool.

We aren't going away this year and if this glorious weather continues I can see plenty of pool days ahead.
I may even get some sewing done!

Proud Mummy Moment

Tomas came out of school yesterday beaming and proudly holding a silver trophy. He had been awarded the politeness and courtesy cup out of the whole school for his always smiling face and always using his manners by saying please and thank you. He has been dutifully polishing his trophy and has even gone to bed with it tonight.
Apparently he didn't realise he had won the weekly award and his teacher had to tell he to go up and collect it. I overheard him telling his big sister that everyone kept coming up and saying well done.
Here is a photo of him with his cup after a cooling down in the sprinkler.

A little hoarse......

Today I woke up with a sore throat, Rachel had it earlier in the week so it's only to be expected I suppose, but it feels like tiny shards of glass in my throat and I have a woolly head too. My plans of making two more riding hat storage bags

took a back seat (they need a clear head and more than just be able to count to ten on my fingers).
So after a lovely cup of tea and several time wasting plays of candy crush I headed off to my workroom to make a patchwork personalised cushion as a present for one of Rachel's friends. I won some black and white patchwork squares a while back in a blog giveaway and as Rachel's friend has just had her bedroom decorated with a monochrome theme I thought these would be ideal. I chose some spots and leaf pattern for the squares and a scroll work pattern for the letters.

I teamed them with some black corduroy for the front and backed the cushion with black gingham (I interfaced this first to give it some body). I love trying out different fonts for my appliqué and am improving my stitching around each letter! I like to use a straight stitch as I get a bit cross with zig-zag matching up although I am always in awe of those that have mastered it, so if you have an tips or tricks of the trade let me know.

Hopefully my sore throat won't stay around for too long and I will be back to working through my long to do list.
