Toothache, Birthdays and Giveaway Goodies

I apologise now for the lack of photos in this post but I woke up this morning at about 4am with roaring toothache!!! and after an emergency visit to the dentist I'm still in agony and although I'm booked in for next week to sort the problem out I think I shall be on the phone tomorrow begging them to see me asap.

Toothache on your birthday is not good!!!!!

I'm so glad that we went out yesterday for evening for something to eat as I would have been a right killjoy tonight and cancelled...we did have lovely time though and returned home suitable stuffed and very tired!!!

This morning I was treated to smellies from Rachel and Tomas and a book from Jack and some lovely cards that the postman brought.

I don't know about you though but I seem to have reached that age where I don't really need anything for my birthday, there's lots of things I want!!! and probably like most of you I tend to treat myself throughout the years to my wants..and then when it comes round to my birthday I feel that I buying something for the sake of it so because of this quandary I still haven't decided what I want!!! A snazzy new camera bag, I know I should make one myself but I saw a saying the other day about cobblers children always being unshod well I must be the only baglady without a bag of her own!!! Or a Sizzix Big Shot!!!! mmmm decisions decisions!!!!

Thank you to everyone that has entered my Spring Giveaway and there's still a little time left as the deadline is midnight tonight. My intentions of posting pictures of my goodies for day 6 and 7 have gone by the wayside due to this blasted tooth but I shall tell you that I have added a fat quarter of my favourite Micheal Miller fabric Springtime in Paris, and a fat quarter each of a co-ordinating cotton in pink, yellow, blue and green. I've also found some lovely buttons too and I shall add some photographs tomorrow of all the goodies together.
 I have also finished the handmade spring surprise gift too and will pop every one's name in a hat tomorrow and then announce the winner!!!!

Right seeing as this blasted tooth is still causing my grief I shall try and get some sleep as I think I may be up early again tomorrow waiting for the dentist to open!!!!!

Spring Giveaway!!!

It's my birthday a week today and I really fancy holding a giveaway so this is what I'm going to do....

Each day until the 7th March (my birthday) I'm going to add a little something to the giveaway so that there should be a nice pile of goodies by the end of the week.

Some will be handmade, some bought, some thrifted, some found....

A Birthday day!!

Today Rachel celebrated her 12th birthday and it was a present of the furry kind that she wanted; more guinea pigs.

Lottie and Poppy arrived home here last week (a little early birthday present) along with a new hutch to join Splodge and Truffle at Guinea Pig Corner.

It had been a tense few weeks as we waited for the guinea pigs to be old enough to come home and we had visited several times to admire them, but the lady at the nursery had been steadfast in so much as she wouldn't take our names or sex the babies until they were ready to go (even though Paul and I had visited the nursery the day before). So last Saturday Paul and Rachel set off at 7am , (I was quietly tucked up in bed) to make sure they had first refusal on any of the girls. Luckily for Rachel two of her favourites turned out to be girls and were back home in their new hutch by about 8.30am.

Rachel did have a few presents to open this morning, as well as a gorgeous bouquet of flowers (she had requested flowers after seeing my beautiful birthday bouquets) my baby girl is growing up fast.

Although I have to say I think she found this birthday a little of an anti climax as all her main presents were here last weekend and she has decided that next year she would like to actually open her presents on her birthday. Also we had planned a sleepover tonight for two of her friends but due to the bank holiday this has been rescheduled for next weekend instead. So I think there will be lots of fun, games and giggling but not a lot of sleep going on!!! Oh to be 12 !!!!!!!

Happy Birthday to me......

Happy Birthday to ME......I can't quite believe it but today I turned 40...yes 40...gasp!!! Where has the time gone, where did all these grey hairs come from...and who are these three kids running around my house..I'm not old enough to have kids, especially one at secondary school and one under 2 and one in between who will be taller than me in no time at the rate he's growing.
I just wanted to share some of my birthday gifts with you today I've been really lucky this year and have some fabulous presents to show you. I received a lovely watch from my Mum and Dad (no excuse for being late now!!!) and a necklace from my sister, money from my Nan which I used to buy another necklace over at floralbankjewellery, two lovely bunches of flowers,

My darling husband bought my a new digital SLR camera which I have coveted for a few years now, I've got a nice shiny new Nikon D40x which comes with two lenses and lots of buttons and bits and bobs and i will now be photographing anything and everything that I can, below are two photos that I took today!!!

My three wonderful children bought me a new camcorder to capture all their antics, so I think all in all a very happy and wonderful birthday all round....
