Charity Shop finds....

I spent the afternoon traipsing round our local charity shops and came upon these goodies
Mo Hayder's Pig Island, the last Mo Hayder book I read "The Treatment" was unputdownable and I'm hoping that this next one is just as good...
I haven't seen either of these films so can't wait to read these ....once I've read them I might watch the DVD's but then again I might not as it may spoil a good book...

Something crafty!!!!Lots of crochet hooks all for £1 and a sweet little hand embroidered hoop for 75p.

One of the charity shops was having a camera event and the table was full of vintage cameras and accessories so I just couldn't resist

and these two vintage cameras both from the 1950's......all for £7 these are going to look great in my summer house when I eventually get round to painting it!!!

And finally, I have the most wonderful chocolates fabric in my my workshop, covered in scrumptious truffles, with either a gold or pink iridescent background, I've quite a few bags with this in the past unfortunately none of the photos do this fabric justice so if you would like a custom quote for a bag, cushion, notebook, cover or maybe even a quilt just let me know

I think I've probably put on $$ lbs just by looking at all these chocolate goodies......

right I'm off to do the ironing that will burn off a few calories!!!

Crafty Sunday

I've been really bad at posting anything for Crafty Sunday

I have to confess to not making as much as I should have but I haven't been entirely idle just very bad at photographing my makes.

I try to craft when Tomas has a nap in the afternoon but this doesn't always happen so my makes are few and far between...

I've been trying to be good and make up all some of the things that I have cut out already without starting anything new.....

apart from this beach bag which I made for one of the Mum's at school

This bag I cut out yonks ago and decided that it now needed finishing so added a little hand quilting to the flowers and used a baby pink linen look fabric and added bows, ribbons and beads, so now it will be reversible shabby chic flowers inside, baby pink on the outside or vice versa, it is nearly finished (it's got handles and everything!!) just got to add some top stitching and will then take a better photo...

I do love this Monday's Child fabric it's very pretty - now all I have to do is add it to my shop....

Now I know I have made a few other things but for the life of I can't remember what they were or if I took any photos of them!!!!!

Well there's always next Sunday......

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Yesterday was our World's Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, I've been organizing these in school for the past few years and its really lovely to open up the school to our local community and to watch all the children come and get their tuck!!!
As you can see we were inundated with lots of scrumptious cakes and biscuits




We were also very lucky to have been given lots of goodies for our raffle which I made into hampers!!
The DVD and popcorn ones were a big hit!!!

We also had some lovely stalls selling their wares

and also got some custom orders for Christmas which will keep me busy for the next few weeks!!!!

The Coffee Morning was a huge success and we raised over £270 so a big thank you to everyone that donated, drank , ate and enjoyed!!!

The Big Comment Debate.....

I just wanted to say a BIG thank you to everyone that left a comment on my blog about "Comment Etiquette".

I really appreciated all your input and I've learnt a few new blog tricks along the way too....

1. I didn't have my comments section set to receive emails when someone leaves a comment - now I do and it means that you can reply directly from your inbox to any comments left rather than going to the blog and clicking on the contact button. So much easier!!! How to : go to your DASHBOARD, click on SETTINGS, click on the COMMENTS tab, scroll right to the bottom and it says COMMENT NOTIFICATION EMAIL, just pop in the email address to which you'd like to receive your notification, and when someone now leaves a comment you get an email and to which you can reply direct.


2. Comment Form Message - again in the comments tab, - I haven't written anything in mine still trying to think of something witty and original (could be waiting sometime) may have to resort to a bit of plagiarism from some of the more talented bloggers out there!!!.

Finally I've realised that there's no right or wrong way when it comes to blogging and you can be as involved with blogging as you want to be......now I must be off as I'm running behind already this week and have lots of replies/posts/crafty things/housework (perhaps not the housework!!) to do!!!!!

I love blogging and really enjoy getting all your lovely comments after each post, and I was just wondering

"what's the etiquette when it comes to comments"?

Do you reply to all, just some, or never, or do you comment on your comments by leaving a comment yourself, which is very confusing in itself and will only be read if the commenter checks back on the comments. I sometimes start off a new post with a thank you for your comments but sometimes you just want to get straight to what your post is about...

So what do you do???

Please tell me.....

oh and how do you add a message to your comments page saying thanks for your comment?

New Chairs for my workroom....

I found these lovely shabby chic chairs on ebay that are just right for my workroom, i was was going to give them a spruce up but love them just the way they are and they're really comfy too! Just got to make some cushions for them now!!! ohh and find three more!!! and then i can invite you all over for tea, cake and crafting....

My workroom is getting tidier (it was rather messy!!)and I have even been able to work down there the last couple of days whilst Tompom has been asleep...
It will be lovely to do a post on sewing soon.....
