From My Home To Yours Swap

Back in June the very talented Betty from Betty the Wood Fairy organised the From My Home To Yours Swap

I was partnered with another super talented blogger from across the pond, Lisa from Sprouting Creative Wings.
Lisa and I emailed back and forth with our likes and dislikes and both being mums we realised that the holidays have a way of creeping into your crafting time so we were easy with our deadline. Somehow or another August came and went and September crept up on us rather quickly, what with birthdays, back to school and a whole host of other things we finally managed to get our parcels posted off to each other. The wait was definitely worth it when my parcel arrived last week.

Lisa makes the most gorgeous animals and dolls and I was excited to see this kangaroo peeking at me from inside the box.

I had to prise her off of Tomas, and we did confirm with Lisa that she was in fact a girl kangaroo, and we have named her Matilda.

I love all the little details like the buttons

and the different printed fabrics

and her super soft pouch!

Also in my parcel was this bone china mug featuring a Kookaburra in which I could enjoy a nice cup of Australian afternoon tea. I am now torn between my love of New Zealand Earl Grey and this Australian afternoon tea. Spoilt for choice some might say.
I decided not to share my cookies, naughty I know, but they tasted so much nicer eaten in secret!

I'm looking forward to sitting down and reading this local crafting magazine and I think I have the perfect fabric in my stash to team with this hand printed piece which has a retro 70's feel to it. I feel a bag making session coming on.

There were also two huge Australia tea towels in the package which are so bright and cheery.

And here are all my goodies together.

Thank you Lisa for being such a wonderfully generous and patient swap partner.
and thank you Betty for organising a lovely swap.

In my rush to send off Lisa's parcel I only took a couple of photos of what I had made and sent.
I had this lovely and bright houses fabric in my stash so I made this cushion cover for Lisa.

We have several famous local food makers here in Essex so I sent a little sample over of Tiptree jams and marmalade.

Lisa also loves tea so I sent over some of this very British red, white and blue London tea fabric.

I'm sure Lisa will be blogging about our swap very soon so hopefully you will be able to see more of what I sent over to her, if you would like to see what everyone else sent as part of the swap then pop over to Betty's Blog and follow the links.

  3. Hi Tracy
I am an Essex girl too. I like to pop into Chelmsford on a Saturday for the Indoor Market. I was really upset when the nice fabric stall closed at the end of the year, I used to be able to get some nice cotton wadding there.
Enjoyed the blog. It has given me some good ideas on hat to send to my blog friend across the Pond. I have been pondering all afternoon. Tiptree jam - a must, a Tea towel from Hyde Hall, a pen from Buckingham Palace the list goes on.
    Hugs
